This is not a fabric for the faint hearted beginner! I made The Sunday Dressing Gown by Merchant and Mills with this. It’s gorgeous but oh my, does it fray! I zigzagged the edges before assembly. In the end I sewed it all by hand and hand-overlocked it simply because I don’t think I’d have managed to handle it on a machine without ending up with a pile of threads and no garment! Having said all that, if it came in another colour I’d make another. It makes a very posh dressing gown.

Thanks for your review. I agree about the fraying! One of our team has made a jacket in this lovely jacquard. We found the best way of coping with the issue was to bind the raw edges. It was a bit of a faff, but looked very smart in the end.
